| My son lived in San Diego for three years and every time I went to see him we always drove past Frankie`s house. even last year in January 2007 I went past his house, I should have taken time out and called to see him, I am sure he would have given us a welcome. a couple of weeks later he went into hospital to have an operation on his knee, but died under anesthetic.

| Tony I must say after hearing Frankie Lane singing My Desire at 92 he certainly aged gracefully. He must have had the longest singing career than anyone.

You would have had to warm him up a bit to get any chance of a welcome, he's dead?

| He was still alive Tony, when I drove past his house, he was waiting for a knee operation and he died two weeks later on the op table.

A fantastic entertainer, when I was at uni I took a part time job driving a canal type boat (Glassed in carried 100 passengers) up the Swan river to the vinyards and along the way we would pass the very modest Harris family home, I always played his song, "Tie Me Kangaroo Down" and many times his white headed dad would come onto their landing to wave to the passengers. Rolf's family were really nice people, although Rolf was born in Perth I believe his parents were Welsh migrants... In my opinion Rolf Harris is 100% entertainer, here is another favourite:

| I used to love those huge paintings he did on stage with a 6" brush. They looked like nothing until the last few strokes. He is a brilliant artist too.
